Our Story
Smough was started by husband and wife team Chris and Helen during the UK's first Coronovirus lockdown. Experimenting and playing with homemade playdough quickly became a firm favourite with their two children, Harri (7) and Lili (4). Not only did it entertain them but it also helped in times of upset, helped to promote creativity as well as time for a hot cup of coffee or tea.

Over time, the recipe was perfected and exciting scents added to enhance the sensory experience and play. Our smelly dough - or Smough - was born!
We know that Smough is perfect for busy parents, teachers, childminders anyone who looks after children in fact. We also promote the fact that it is a great stress reliever for adults - you are NEVER too old for a tin of our Smough! Fiddly fingers of any age can benefit from a fiddle pot or a full size, which can come in a range of scents and colours, there is sure to be something to suit you.

Every tin of premium quality, scented dough is handcrafted at Smough HQ in North Wales and fully CE tested for peace of mind. From purchasing the ingredients, making the dough, adding the scent, weighing out each tin, rolling it, putting it in the tin, stamping it, labelling it all the way through to packaging it to post to you - it is done with our 2 pairs of hands. Each one is made with love and a passion to get our Smough to you to enjoy!
